I love music. It has always been in my blood and although my days of taking lessons and playing regularly are over (for now), I absolutely love hearing world class music played in my home! Who wouldn’t?? One of the wonderful things about having a violin luthier living on the property is being able to meet some amazing musicians. These three are incredible. We’ve known Deniz Tahberer since he was a teenager, having just arrived from Turkey to study with Robert Rozak in Vancouver. Although he’s living in Europe again, we do get to see him occasionally. On this visit he brought along Sarah Thery, a beautiful mezzo soprano (my children are in love with her!) and Ammiel Bushakevitz, an incredible pianist. We had the privilege of hosting them in our home (my mother in law, actually) and were able to hear them perform at South Abbotsford Church with Calvin Dyck as host, organizer and co-performer. On Saturday we fit in a quick photo session. Head shots are important in any business!

As a little brag… Deniz plays an instrument handcrafted by my father in law, Hermann Janzen
