And good job little ones.... you did great!
]]>It's been such a privilege witnessing Mitchell growing up and being able to see him mature in his faith and love for the Lord. He's had his struggles with his knee (hence the photo at the end) but no matter what the circumstances, with God's strength, he was able to trust in the Lord and be so gracious with the disappointments that he endured. So proud of you Mitchell and thankful for your family and your quiet, humble spirit!
Kaden I don't know you as well but I surely know you have chosen an excellent friend! Praying for you both in this next stage of life!
]]>We were so pleased to be able to create some photographs for this family before a move separated them. Never underestimate the importance of a good family photo. They are the building blocks of family memories and the effort is worth it!!
]]>We know this family from school and our girls have become good friends so it was a privilege to capture their immediate family and also their extended family. But for now.... here are the Foster's!
Thanks Foster's! Extended family is coming up next.....
]]>And they showed up again! Love this little guy and all his expressions. I even got a cuddle at the end!
]]>
What a fun, lively session this was! I was so pleased when Kacey contacted me to use a session that they had purchased at an auction to raise money for the Casa De Luz Children's Center in Mexico. She wanted photos for her Mom for Mother's Day and we had a hilarious time wrangling these cute little cousins! I think you'll get a good idea of their love for each other and their young rambunctiousness (is that a word??)......
Thank to Kacey for inviting me into your almost completed reno and being brave enough to take photos!
If you are interested in the work of Casa De Luz you can check out their website here: http://casadeluzmexico.com/

My brother and sister in law were also brave enough to let me have a crack at a lifestyle session and I loved it. So easy and natural and we even managed to corral my other beautiful, though somewhat more active and determined, niece into some adorable shots.
So blessed and so happy to share these with you!
Weddings are truly wonderful, to be able to witness the start of a journey, to see the hopes and dreams and all of the emotion that accompanies a life-long covenant. A vow renewal is all of this and so much more. It’s looking at a couple and realizing that those butterflies and excitement are guided by a real KNOWING of each other. Knowing the challenges of marriage and children and living life together and yet choosing this day again.
Romance and commitment.
And how much more special when this bride was a special “foster” daughter to my grandmother. An extra, lovely auntie to me!
PS. See if you can spot the original wedding photo!

Katrina and Devin… we pray that you will build a marriage based on the love and grace that God has shown to us. Thank you for allowing us to share in your lovely wedding.
Vendors:
What a privilege to photograph Andrew and Linda’s wedding. Linda and I worked together in ICU at Children’s Hospital and developed a relationship around our work, our cameras and our faith! I remember one particular conversation when Linda told me she had photographed weddings in the past. I was in awe and thought….. I’ll NEVER do that…..
Thank you so much for letting us be a part of this once in a lifetime day. We feel so honored to have witnessed your faith-filled vows and to be there at the start of this, your new adventure.
Thank you to Jessica Singh and the staff at Steamwork for all your hard work.
Feel free to leave Linda and Andrew a comment here!
Kieran and Sarah’s wedding was so calm and loving and meaningful. It really was the kind of day that takes some time to absorb, the kind of day I hope they can look back on and see it as a beautiful starting point for a lifetime. From the vows, to the prayers, to the charge by our pastor, each part of the ceremony declared their love for Christ and their dependance on Him to strengthen and sustain their new marriage.
So exciting and worth celebrating!
And they did celebrate! From the spontaneous serenade in the park (from the groomsman), to their little sister getting busted at the reception (check out the photos!), to the wild musical chairs game courtesy of the wedding party and a lively dance …. it was a fun, full day.
Blessing on you, Kieran and Sarah, as you seek to honor Christ in your marriage! We love you guys!
Praying for you both as you await the arrival of your new baby! Boy or Girl? Any guesses??
It is always so lovely to spend time with this precious family and their girls. Not only have I had the privilege of photographing them more than a few times, I can also call them friends!
Growing girls mean ACTION!! I think Baby E would have rather taken her tutu and filled it with gravel and dirt and whatever else happened to be within reach! We managed to keep her reasonably contained but I think the best shots came when we let her roam free (take a look for the “less than impressed” big sister). C and Big E are VERY patient big sisters…. at least from what I saw😉
Stay tuned for Baby E’s Cake Smash… probably after the holidays! Merry Christmas all!
Maternity sessions are extra fun with a toddler and Sir J kept us busy and entertained for sure. My daughter came along for toddler support and had a blast chasing this little guy all over! Not sure he knows what heading his way but he’s sure to be a spunky older bro!! Thanks for a great morning Suman and Preet. Looking forward to meeting your new little one! (PS. Suman is a RN… we worked that into the photos….)
As promised, I’m trying to catch up on my neglected blogs posts! Susie and I work together at Abbotsford Hospital and we all had a fun and active session running after their beautiful boys!! Susie is a Child Life Specialist which means she’s a nurses’ best friend (and the kids…. and the parents’…..) when it comes to helping our small patients through some of the scary things that happen in the hospital. So she came prepared! We blew bubbles, ran, jumped, yelled a little bit, had an Ultimate Frisbee demonstration by young sir and generally had an “exhaustedly” good time! The last photo pretty much sums it up….
Thanks to my lovely sister in law’s suggestion, that’s just what we did.
Advantages to having a photog in the fam… photo sessions.
Disadvantages… waiting for your photos, being dragged out to mosquito infested locations, knowing that all those goofy outtakes are now in your sister’s possession…..
Was it worth it? You decide!
It is always a privilege to be involved in a wedding. We are there from first thing in the morning, capturing all the excitement to the dance when it’s all about friends and family and enjoying the moment! I could not include all of the wonderful moments in this wedding but I hope these photos will tell a little of Tim and Sharissa’s day. Many laughs (Sharissa’s vows), singing groomsman, a quick change of photo venue due to a bit of rain (thank you to Sharissa’s grandparents for use of their wonderful property…. again!), a few tears due to a surprise call from a friend in Africa (Vanessa saved the make-up day!), incredible hair (of course!) and so many lovely and supportive family and friends encouraging these two as they start their life together.
May the Lord bless you both in your new marriage, keeping you dependant on Him for everything as you seek to honor and glorify Him!
I just loved this little wee girl! Her hair! Her lips and those CHEEKS!! She is a stunner. And with a personality to match. No way was she going to give up those good looks for free. So… we danced and made funny noises and peekaboo-ed ourselves crazy. Her mama and I agreed… no workout necessary after this session.
Ahh… but the results were so worth it. Thanks for trusting me with these precious photos, Julia and Hugh! She’s amazing!!

This little guy just about got photographed twice. His Mom contacted me for a session and so did her friends. I was happy to let this little coincidence play out so Kelly could get a thoughtful shower present from her friends… a session with me!!
Baby J made me feel like a baby whisperer. Keep him warm and comfy and he was happy to be turned, tucked, flipped and rearranged. Such a sweetie.
Enjoy these photos, Matt and Kelly! Congratulations on your handsome wee man!
And it was crazy! Snow everywhere, blowing, swirling, take your breath away cold but we all rocked it anyway. It was quick, with a location change in the middle (oh how I love warm cars), but we got some stellar shots. Thanks for hanging in there guys.
This session was extra special for me. For those of you who are not aware, Paul is my brother and it is just so completely amazing to see him so happy with his wife. Heather, we love you so much!! We are over the moon excited for this new arrival.
Feel free to visit me on FB or Google+ and like my page!
Two beautiful people (yes.. you guys are… in and out), two amazing locations (grandparents’ properties), a lovely evening = a successful engagement session. Boats, forests, streams, we had it all!
This session should definitely have a behind the scenes follow up… you should have seen Orlando in the paddle boat with strobe, softbox, and battery…. keeping it all under control. We laughed… a lot!
Can’t wait for your July wedding, Tim and Sharissa! Enjoy the photos!
It’s been a quiet but somewhat perfect day around our home so far… a little sleep in, a little snow, some french toast and a family snuggle on the couch while we cheered on the Canadian Olympic Women’s Hockey team! Lovely. We hope you are enjoying a relaxing family day as well!
To celebrate, I thought I would do a little blogging catch up and post this fun session. I’m sure it’ll make you smile!!
What is your family up to today? Leave me a message in the comments or on FB or Google +
I love to hear from you!
Jackie and Mario were spectacular! Taking it all in stride, they made the most of a day that certainly did not go as planned. These few photos cannot capture the joy of this day. The encouragement and words of wisdom (and humor) they received from their friends and loved ones were so heartfelt and genuine. We could feel their community surrounding them with prayers and support. Amazing!
Special thanks to Heddwyn and Walt of Corma farms for providing an amazing venue (all the work you put into the reception!!) and to Carmen Tse Makeup for the amazing hair and makeup.
Never, ever have I been so grateful that we are not solely natural light photographers. We were able to use our lights and the rain to create some unique portraits for this lovely couple. Enjoy!
Thanks so much for choosing us to photograph your wedding, Jackie and Mario. We loved spending the day with you and pray God’s blessings on your marriage as you serve Him here and around the world!
Want to see more photos from this wedding? Check out Jackie and Mario’s album on Facebook (Lorelei Photography)!!
Caleb and Julia had an amazing warm September wedding. Lots of family, loads of friends and everyone working together to make sure all the details were perfect. From making brunch for the bride, to doing makeup and hair, organizing, decorating and creating an amazing dinner, this wedding was a labor of love for so many people who so obviously love Caleb and Julia and their families!!
I will let the photos speak for themselves…..
May God continue to bless your new marriage Caleb and Julia. Thanks for letting us be a part of the beginning!
Aylin’s headband is one that Chanae wore as a baby. Love those precious heirlooms.
A special thanks to my baby-loving mother in law who let us use her vintage carriage!
Here are just a few of my favorites from this session. What a sweet reminder of how precious life is.
Fun fact: Jesse was a groomsman in the first wedding we photographed! But… that’s not why we know them! Stephanie and I met on the job as pediatric nurses. The “Jesse” connection happened after that!
It was an honor to be your photographers, Stephanie and Jesse. Your love for each other and for the Lord was front and center. Praise be to God for the gift of marriage!
Can’t get enough of this lovely wedding? Come visit my Lorelei Photography page on Facebook to see their album. Click the link below!
Love this beautiful couple! And so excited for more babies to cuddle!
I’d love to have you visit me on Facebook! All my business is word of mouth so pass it along!!
The little princess made her appearance 3 weeks early (her momma was relieved and grateful)! However…. I still have to share some of their beautiful maternity photos. I think her big sisters are trying to steal the show! Stay tuned for newborn photos!
This wedding was incredible. There was such a peace about the day. Ryley… you have amazing friends that made such lovely bridesmaids. When they were calling Ryley’s Mom “Mommy ‘M’ ” I knew I was in for a treat!! Their wedding took place on Liam’s family’s property and we could just sense how everyone had worked so hard to make this day memorable, including Liam’s dog Sierra who so dramatically delivered the rings! Their reception was at Bonson Community Center which is becoming one of my absolute favorite wedding venues! A big shout out to Ryley’s brother, Orin who did an amazing job MC’ing and… how about that brownie cake! Wow! Loving constructed by Ryley’s Mom.
Thanks for inviting us into your special day Ryley and Liam! It has truly been a pleasure getting to know you both. Your vows were beautiful and we were so thrilled to witness two people coming together in Christ. May you continue to lean on Him as you grow and learn together!
As always, we appreciate a “like” on Facebook. It’s how Ryley found us!
Thanks for the laughs Jackie and Mario. Bring on the hats! We can’t wait to shoot your wedding in September. Bring on the meaningful and unique!
As for you dear blog reader, enjoy these photos…. I think you’ll smile. I certainly did. Caution: “Awkward Engagement Photos” being mocked…
Caleb and Julia took us to Mill Lake for their engagement shoot… to the place where he asked and she said YES! We love you guys are we’re so excited to witness your vows in September.
I was really hesitant about what it would do to my young kids… I mean… c’mon… we all know what happens to kids who come from small towns (wink, wink… I grew up in Leduc, AB). Well… we have found an amazing church that challenges us to KNOW God, with people in it that truly desire to glorify God in all they do. And… we found a wonderful Christian school for our kids to attend. It is small and growing. It is full of teachers who are there, not for the pay cheque, but to come along side us and invest in our children. We are thrilled to be a part of this community.
Here are the high schoolers of Valley Christian School and Nyah, our Grade 12 graduate. Most of these kids have been home schooled until recently so this is a new season and a new challenge for them. For those of you waiting to graduate, do not take these years for granted. Use them well to study and grow and develop your character. May you never lose sight of the most important thing… all that Christ did for you. Nyah… may you continue to trust God and lean on Him in all your future decisions. You don’t need to do anything, He did it all for you already!! Congratulations!!
Feel free to share this post to your Facebook page! Photos will up soon so you can tag yourself and share.
For those that follow my blog and facebook page regularly, you’ll recognize a few of these faces. I think you’ll figure out who stole the show….
Stephanie and I worked briefly together in Abbotsford and we kept up our relationship through email and facebook. When she got engaged, I was thrilled and couldn’t wait to meet the guy who swept this jem off her feet. Turns out that we also have a connection with Jesse as he was a groomsman in the first wedding we ever photographed. Wow! I didn’t grow up here so it’s my turn for one of these funky “only in the Fraser Valley” connections.
June weddings are beautiful and we are looking forward to yours!!
Rachel is our beloved babysitter and now that she’s graduating it’s on to a new and exciting stage of life for her (we’ll miss you)! Sarah graduated last year and she’s ready to start a new career as a hair stylist. I am are so glad to be a part of your lives, to see where God leads you!
Senior (as in High School Seniors) photography is a relatively new concept in Canada. Rather than those same old photos done at the school, a custom photo session allows personalities to shine through! It’s such a precious time in life and so worth capturing. Contact me for details!
Think these girls got some personality?? You’re right!!

I am not surprised at how many subscribers they have! Way to go girls!

Rainbows remind me of the hope that we have in Christ, His promise of grace and mercy, His undeserved forgiveness. And, for this shoot, His promise of love and forgiveness that is demonstrated daily in the marriages of those who love Him!! We are so glad to have met you Ryley and Liam and we look forward to sharing in your wedding day….. soon! Prepare well….. your adventure lies ahead….
Our indoor location was the Clayburn Village Store & Tea Shop. Danielle was an employee there and they were gracious enough to allow us in for some memorable photos. I love the ambience of this nostalgic shop and some of my favorite photographs from this day came at the very end (umbrella shots). We were experimenting with our equipment and Orlando and I were thrilled with the results! I’d love to hear your comments and don’t forget to hover over the pics for mine!
I think some fun was had… :)
Would you like to see more? Head over to my Lorelei Photography FB page and check out Bryson and Danielle’s album!
Here is a catch up session from the fall. For those of you that follow my blog, you’ll recognize these two little munchkins! Check them out at their 2 year old session here: http://wp.me/p1Dh4v-5z This time it was the whole family. Cassidy’s “stink eye” had me rolling on the floor! Thanks Sid & Katy! We had a great time with you as always!
Thanks for your patience while I took a couple of weeks off! Orlando and I caught a friend’s wedding in California on our way to a very relaxing vacation in the Dominican. I’m hoping to post some pictures here once I’m caught up!
Enjoy this very fun maternity session we did in December. We had the rare opportunity to combine a studio shoot with a bit of outdoors.
Baby is not here yet (any day, ANY DAY!!) but I’m sure Jen is ready to hit the eject button (too bad we didn’t come with those!). Kieran was totally adorable and typically two. I got a good laugh as I edited these! Take a good look at his ever so expressive face! Looking forward to meeting this beautiful bump…
Thanks Jen and Kyle for trusting us yet again to capture these milestones for you! We love seeing your family grow!!
First of all, rarely have I seen a groom so excited about each and every detail of his wedding. This was such a team effort. From their thrift store finds turned into beautiful displays, to their love of color and the amazing bicycle loving restored by David’s Dad (a gift to Catie!), this was a day to remember! Oh yes… and who could forget the pinata!
Thank you to all of you, friends and family and wedding party who became musicians, chefs, organizers and decorators, MC’s, hairdressers, errand runners and helpers. You gave Catie and David the day of their dreams!
Catie and David, may God bless you richly as you glorify Him in your new marriage!
May you be at peace this Christmas and find time to reflect on the Great Gift we are celebrating this season.
I am so grateful for the grace and forgiveness given to me through Jesus!
This was the kind of day we met Darren and Kristie to photograph their beautiful family. Thanks guys! We had a great time with you.
Today… awaiting one-big-exciting-tiny change. So excited for you both and can’t wait to meet him or her (let the suspense be over!!)!!
This summer I had the amazing privilege to photograph my cousin’s wedding in Prince George. I LOVE being a part of the “behind-the-scenes” at weddings and so much more when I get to spent the day with my cousin and his lovely bride. They had such wonderful places picked out for pictures … not only beautiful but personal as well. Rachelle works at the university (what an amazing campus) and Ferguson Lake… first date location!
All the best to you Andrew and Rachelle. May you discover more of Christ as your marriage deepens and grows. We love you guys!!
We know Bryson and Danielle from our church, before they were interested in each other (I assume….) but not before their story began. You see, Danielle and Bryson have known each other for quite some time. Don’t you love that? I can see them sitting on their porch swing 30 years from now, talking about the old days….. “Remember when you did that crazy thing at youth group?” “Yea… I thought you were a total geek… but look at us now!” It is such a privilege to have history with someone long before you make a lifelong commitment.
Danielle had a great location in mind for their engagement photos and the weather was absolutely perfect. These two are so much fun (you’ll see!) and we are very exciting to photograph their October wedding. Thanks to Ferncliff Gardens www.ferncliffgardens.com for making a beautiful bouquet for us to play with.
Aaron contacted us before the proposal to set up a session; a first for us! Sarah is from far, far away and was in town for a “visit”…. so she thought! A side trip to the interior to stay with family led to an amazing proposal at the beautiful Burrowing Owl Winery. The answer was YES and the session was a definite GO!
Aaron is a friend of ours and it was such a pleasure to meet Sarah. No awkward moments, just real, relaxed, old-fashioned picture taking fun! May God continue to bless you both as you seek to glorify Him in your wedding planning and especially in your marriage.
HE’S HERE!!!!
Despite a sweltering photo session (remember those super hot summer evenings?) and a stranger loving him up, this wee guy was great. I love when families add personal touches to their shoots. Stacey made the beautiful quilt that Dallas is sleeping on. I’m seriously impressed!
Welcome baby Dallas… you have good genes so it’s not surprising that you’re so adorable.
PS. I know you’re super long & lanky but thanks for letting me scrunch you up!
Well… that’s what we did! And what a hilarious evening we had. During the shoot, I even put my camera down… Paul had me in stitches. Christina, I predict much laughter in your future!! Between humorous comments, hilarious stories and a woman’s exercise class cheering them on (yes… in the middle of the shoot!) we had a very fun couple of hours with these two!
I’m so glad that your friend gave you the donated shoot (proceeds to women in need in Mission). Congratulations!
a warm summer evening (finally….), beautiful sunset light, a grassy field, an old hayloft?? (This IS a photographer asking, people…. )
Drumroll please…………………………………………………….
Love!!
Yes… okay… don’t shoot me… it’s sounds so corny but for real, this couple is fantastic. They let us try a new location (right down the street from our house!), were enthusiastic as we got all artist-like on them setting our lights, put up with nasty mosquitoes, and laughed at our ridiculous banter.
What does that have to do with love? A lot can be told in an hour or two in front of a camera! We saw them encouraging, laughing, helping each other. So much goes into creating and maintaining a successful marriage and we are very excited about Catie and David.
Most importantly, these two are seeking Christ to lead their new life together. What is better than that?
Nothing!
Congrats David and Catie!
Having everyone packed into that church beautiful tiny church gave a real sense of family. Of support and love and togetherness.
I loved the way you put your personal touches on all the details. Your family and friends kicked in to make sure your elegant and heartfelt wedding was perfect. Hope you’ve had a wonderful day remembering and looking forward to the years ahead!!
PS…. Isn’t Kieran adorable??
A special thanks to Donna for being my assistant on this shoot!
For all you crafty types, check out her blog at http://chaoscookiesandlaundry.com/
Jen is my fabulous massage therapist and I was so thrilled when she commissioned us to photograph her family. One of my favorite moments…. Jen’s son, Noah says to me, “So.. if I were a model I’d be making money right now?” Gotta love a future business man and entrepreneur!
It was great to meet you all! Congratulations to Cathy and Bob on your anniversary. And… thanks boys for the laughs!!
PS… If you’re looking for a great registered massage therapist check out Jen and her team at Cedar Valley Massage Therapy & Wellness in Mission!!
Well… one thing is FOR SURE… one year ago the weather was beautiful, the bride was gorgeous, and Josh and Kara said Yes to forever.
May God bless you with many more years as you learn and grow together. The adventure continues…..
while Mom and I made complete sillies out of ourselves to get just the right shot.
We laughed and enjoyed the energy and curiosity that comes with being two.
I’m excited that she’s found a great guy that loves all the activities she does plus he makes her laugh and treats her like gold. And… I don’t think I need to tell Jason what a fantastic girl he’ll have for a wife! I’m so happy for you guys!!
Thanks for bringing Chinook along… he made a few surprise appearances!!
Between the amazing venues, the childhood friends, the personal, meaningful details, the supportive families and the uberexcited bride and groom this was a truly great day!! As I’ve been preparing these pictures, I’ve been struck by the incredible emotion and love captured.
Denise is my stepsister and I feel so privileged to be a part of her day. We are stepsisters because we both lost a parent to cancer and now her beautiful Mom is married to my Dad. As a tribute to her Dad, Denise had his ring incorporated into her bouquet. He would have been honored. At the reception we heard the most encouraging and loving speeches. How amazing to hear the friends and family of the couple speak so highly of them, to laugh with them but most of all to encourage them in their new marriage.
Look carefully…. there are some amazing moments.
Thanks Denise and Evan! We had a blast photographing your day.
Feel free to leave the couple a comment! Looking for more? Scroll Down… for Denise and Evan’s Preview post.
Which to choose? This particular evening was one of those rare, magical fall evenings when everything comes together perfectly
…. colors, light, location and a couple that’s only a little bit hot!! Mel and I used to work together and she’s become a great friend.
We’ve been talking about doing this shoot since she and Jason got engaged last winter
and I’m thrilled that it finally worked out. So many great pics to come.. stay tuned!
PS… Like this? Facebook me at Lorelei Photography or www.loreleiphotography.com
Make sure to leave the couple a comment!
Apparently, Denise’s co-workers were dying to see pictures of her dress…. Here you go guys! The dress was unbelievable and she was beyond stunning.
Hope you guys had a wonderful honeymoon! More to come!!
In just a few weeks, I will be so excited to photograph the wedding of a family friend. Her parents have known my parents… forever! Before either of them got together, before either of US were even a thought! They stood up for each other at their weddings, they encouraged and prayed for each other through some very dark days. We prayed for them as they served overseas at a Bible School. So, even though I haven’t even seen my friend since we were young children, I feel like we are friends. History friends.
So my full circle will come when I can be a part of her special day and capture memories that will last forever.
Something tells me my Mom would be smiling.
who knew I’d get to meet such an adorable wee girl (and her gorgeous mama!)??
Take a peek at this sweetie!
See? Adorable!!! Dad… you’d better get your shotgun out on the porch!!
My brother and his beautiful bride Nicole were married at the end of August on a gorgeous summer day.
I was able to enjoy the day…. NOT taking pictures…. except for the reception….
For those of you waiting anxiously for your pictures! They’re coming!!! Thanks for your patience!!
Not sure where the year has gone but she’s been such a gift and a joy to us. AND she’s incredibly easy to photograph.
I pull out my camera and she smiles. Any bets on how long that’s going to last?
This may or may not have been taken just before naptime… I’ll let you decide!
If you like what you see on my blog why not give me a “like”?!
and special handcrafted touches all made for an amazing day for Jen & Kyle….
Not to mention Cultus Lake docks almost abandoned!
We had a great time being part of your day.
Thanks to Orlando (my husband) and David Philps for shooting with me. Couldn’t do it without you guys!
Congratulations Jen and Kyle!
Here’s one of the wedding party that I absolutely love:
Kara arrived on a horse and carriage to see Josh for the first time. A very special moment for them!! Afterwards we took advantage of the beautiful carriage…
Here’s a few of the kids that were in the wedding party! Just for the Oma’s/Grandma’s/Mommy’s and Daddy’s in the crowd!!
These two are so adorable but can someone let me know if I actually posted one of Eden and one of Cassidy….
I’m getting better in person but in pictures these two are hard to tell apart!!
Congrats! Enjoy your preview!!
